An MMFT member recently travelled to Japan to the Toyota Museum to get the low-down on a couple of Toyota’s new technologies: 

This version of the Toyota Partner Robot (robots designed to function as personal assistants for humans) has artificial lips and an artificial lung which allow it to play a trumpet. The artificial lips are an effort to help the robots integrate easily into society.

The 4’11” walking robot, can play a range of songs, and is able to use its hands to carry out a wide range of tasks. 

Toyota “I-unit” concept car 

This futuristic looking concept car is a single seat electric unit that can transform between its upright mode which allows it to move freely between humans and a reclined “high speed” mode.
